A NOTE FROM BENEDETTA

SŌMATA was born from a vision to create a space where people feel truly seen and supported—where they can embrace their full authenticity. This journey reflects my own growth, learning to accept my unique gifts and sharing that sense of empowerment with others. SŌMATA is more than a yoga studio; it’s a global community that connects individuals through a shared commitment to growth and self-expression.

I’ve come to understand that community isn’t limited by walls or locations—it’s about the connections we form, no matter where we are. SŌMATA is a place where people gather, cultivate relationships, and celebrate the art of movement, alignment, and holistic living. As a passionate advocate for yoga, movement, and creative expression, I’ve always envisioned a space where people can not only learn yoga but also explore life itself. It’s a place to nourish the body and soul, build lifelong friendships, and live in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.

Through our RETREATS we create transformative experiences that honor the connection between body, mind, and spirit. Each retreat is designed to rejuvenate and inspire, offering a deep sense of renewal, whether we’re practicing yoga in a peaceful countryside or exploring new cultures. Every journey serves as an opportunity to deepen our practice, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate the art of being fully present.

At SŌMATA, we’re building a community rooted in connection, alignment, and authenticity—a space where you are free to be exactly who you are and continue your journey toward self-discovery.

The name SŌMATA is a fusion of two words: *SOMA* and *OM*. *SOMA* refers to the body, the vessel through which we experience life, while *OM* is the sacred sound representing universal consciousness and spiritual connection. Together, they symbolize the unity of body and spirit—a fundamental aspect of the practices we explore at SŌMATA.

The yoga offered at SŌMATA is SOMATIC in nature, focusing on the internal experience of the body. SOMATIC YOGA invites practitioners to tune into the sensations and emotions that arise within during practice. It’s about moving with awareness and connection, exploring how each posture feels from the inside out. This approach emphasizes mindfulness, slow movements, and a gentle exploration of physical boundaries, allowing practitioners to cultivate deep awareness and presence. Somatic yoga is ideal for those seeking to heal, reconnect with their bodies, and explore movement in a deeply personal and authentic way.
